In 1997, Alfred moved to Pune with the dream of turning Indian street food into a globally famous brand. By providing delicious and authentic sandwiches, his hope was to establish his brand as one of the most well-known and draw people to his shop. He wanted people to remember the mesmerising taste of Alfred’s sandwiches. A visionary man who started his journey on “Thela Gadi” worked to create a company with three and counting outlets in Pune and launched Flavours Street in 1998 as a street seller in Koregaon Park. He was a diligent worker, and he believed in himself; he put his excellent and highly recognised culinary abilities to good use. Due to his positive outlook, he was lucky enough to develop his abilities while working with some of Goa’s top continental chefs at 5-Star hotels. What Alfred offered to the customers were just three to four heartfelt sandwiches, but he captured the hearts of the always munching Punekars. His simple yet wonderful sandwiches became the talk of the town in no time. The flavors were so tempting that well-known individuals such as Kader Khan, Poonawala, Baba Kalyani, and Venky visited his modest shop to relish the sandwiches and lose themselves in their distinct, delicious, and great quality. On one occasion, Alfred sold up to 500 sandwiches in a day. Despite having limited resources, to begin with, Alfred remembers that his experience was fantastic. Not only did Alfred’s sandwiches capture the hearts of Pune’s people, but also the streets! The fame of flavorful street sandwiches caused traffic congestion in the area, which eventually led the authorities to become concerned about the impact they were having on the safety and traffic flow in Koregaon Park and force them to relocate from their original location. Alfred was unable to make any plans after he was finally able to start his firm because of his desire to follow his passion and open Flavours Street
